Fiber: Your New BFF

Fiber is a very important and often overlooked component of our diet. If you’re following the Hot Body meal plan, you’re already hitting your fiber goals with vegetables, chia seeds, avocados, brown rice, fruits, and nuts. Foods high in fiber are not only good for the digestive system, but they are also great for fitness as well as fun.

As it turns out, a high fiber intake can contribute significantly to weight controlfull offrom fiberwithoutadd calories. (Calories from the liver are not absorbed by the body…they pass right through!?)

Party people, meet Party Muffins

Party Muffins are my secret tip to share with you. They will fuel your body, have fun and stay on track! These small snacks are SSD approved and will give your body a boost of fiber.

These are party muffinsperfectparty snacks. Let me clarify: I don’t usually bring these to the pot. Instead, I use them as personal party fuel.

These snacks are completely portable. In fact, I’ve been known to put a little something in my bag, so I’ve gotten some really tasty and filling snacks at parties. That way, I’m less inclined to dig into the unhealthy options that are bound to be there. If you’re not ready to BYOMuffin, don’t sweat it. Just nibble on a few before heading out and make sure you’re full and ready for whatever the party has in store for you.

Tip: No hangover zone

FYI, fiber is great for stabilizing your blood sugar. This means your blood sugar levels won’t crash when you fill up on fiber. It’s a WIN! Because when your blood sugar drops, you get hungry and eat every unhealthy snack. Starvation is a surefire way to derail your health goals, eat all the junk they serve up, and wake up with an epic amount of hunger…

Party Muffins to the Rescue!

RECIPE FOR HEALTHY MUFFINS

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup coconut flour
  • 2 spoons of baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 medium avocado, mashed (1/2 to 2/3 cup)
  • 1/2 cup monk fruit sweetener (or dry sweetener)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons of vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup non-dairy milk
  • 1/3 cup cacao nibs or dairy-free mini chocolate chips
